In the heart of Marholmen is our unique Art Nouveau villa from 1915 - Villa Berg. The villa can be rented for private meetings, conferences, corporate events, weddings or private celebrations with room for 18-20 people.
Our history since
1900
Marholmen is a historic place created by wholesaler Nils Berg in the early 1900s, together with his wife Hanna. In 1913, they decided to donate their beloved island of Marholmen to build a rest home for working-class women here.

140 cozy square meters accommodate three double bedrooms with space for up to six overnight guests, a spacious kitchen with dining area, a living room, two bathrooms and a sauna.
As an added bonus, the villa also has a nice view of the bay. Booked for private parties or for the small conference group.

It was 1917 when Selma Blomberg, a widow and single mother, came ashore here on Marholmen. She had worked hard all her life, but here awaited something that was unique at the time: two weeks of rest, completely free of charge.
This was possible thanks to wholesaler Nils Berg and his wife Hanna donating parts of Marholmen to the Swedish Trade Union Confederation LO in 1913, under the condition of creating a place where working women could come to recover.
Today, on International Women's Day, we offer an extra warm thought of gratitude to all those who have gone before us and fought for everything we take for granted today, such as statutory holidays and the right to vote. ❤️
