How the sauna works

By far the most common question we get is: how does the sauna work? Here is the answer:

Link to a video showing step by step how to do it >>

There are two knobs on the heater, the left one controls the heat and the right one controls the time.

Temperature setting-min/max - adjust to the desired temperature up or down. As a rule, 70-90 degrees is fine.

Note! Setting the temperature too high will result in our overheating protection tripping and must be reset by staff.

Time setting

You can set the sauna to be warm when you return to the cabin after the day's activities. Here's how to do it:

  • l-4 (marked in white) & 1-8 (marked in black). The first numbers 1-4 (highlighted in white) start the sauna immediately and run for the number of hours indicated by the number.
  • When you enter 1-8 (marked in black), the timer function starts and the sauna starts after the number of hours it is on (e.g. 3 starts the sauna in 3 hours).
  • The timer automatically switches off in position 0. You can turn the knob back and forth at any time, for example to manually turn off the sauna (turn to 0) or to change an existing setting.

Note! Remember to pour water on the stones carefully and a little at a time, otherwise the RCD may trip.

Make sure that there are no towels or other flammable items near the heater, as they pose a fire hazard.

How to light the stove

Watch a step-by-step video on how to light the stove >>

  1. Öppna spjället genom att föra reglaget helt åt höger.
  2. Put a couple of logs in the stove and stack the finely chopped wood crosswise in an airy manner over them
  3. Use kindling and light it in the center of the woodpile.
  4. Close the door. A little soot may form on the glass. This is normal and will disappear after a while.
  5. The damper should be fully open for 3-5 minutes or until the wood is burning properly. After that, the air supply for the damper can be reduced for longer burning time.
  6. Wood should be added when the fire changes to a bed of embers. Add 2-3 logs. Place the logs diagonally on top of each other so that the fire can easily spread. Then close the door.

Keep in mind:
Always close the damper when the fireplace is not in use.
Never close the damper before the embers have burnt out.

Ved finns att köpa i receptionen och kan även beställas i samband med din bokning.
