Here on our archipelago island, you’re never far from a dip—or a warming sauna, for that matter! Would you like to bathe in our new spa? In warm bathtubs? In a hot tub? In the ocean? Or in the forest?

I början av maj 2025 gick startskottet för en om- och tillbyggnad av vår huvudbyggnad. Bland annat har vi byggt till ytterligare 600 luftiga kvadratmeter och skapat ett helt nytt kök medan vi renoverat vår restaurang, bar och skapat en helt ny receptionslobby och renoverat Marholmen Spa.

You decide how comfortable you want your stay to be. Would you like to stay at our hotel with a sea view and let our chefs prepare all your meals, or stay in one of our lovely self-catering cabin villas? Or why not combine the best of both worlds—cook for yourself in your own cottage and order meals occasionally? Or you can choose to experience glamping or enjoy a guest room at the Villa Berg Spa Hotel. Because that’s how it is here on Marholmen you tailor your stay exactly the way you want it. Life is simple on our island.

Villa Berg – a listed Art Nouveau villa dating from 1915

A villa built in 1915 and designated a cultural heritage site, available for conferences and private gatherings for up to 20 people. During the summer, the villa serves as a spa hotel.

Horse-drawn carriages were a common way to get to Norrtälje.

The boat route was the natural way to travel between Stockholm and Marholmen.

Our history since

1900

Marholmen is a historic place created by merchant Nils Berg in the early 1900s, together with his wife Hanna. In 1913, they decided to donate their beloved island, Marholmen, to build a convalescent home for working-class women here.

Conferences, kick-offs, meetings & corporate events

A few years after Hanna's death, Nils Berg donated the rest of Marholmen and his fortune to Birkagården Folk High School to promote public education and especially "the educational needs of factory women". Even today, we honor Nils' will by offering a welcoming place for meetings, training, conferences, kick-offs and events of all kinds.

Celebrate life's milestones.

It was love at first sight when Nils Berg spotted his Hanna through a window on Drottninggatan in Stockholm back in the late 1800s. And it was largely thanks to Hanna that Marholmen became a place for recreation and rest for Sweden's workers. What better way to honor her legacy than by offering a beautiful place to celebrate all of life's milestones?

Action or relaxation – what do you want to do when you're here?

Historically, there has always been plenty to do for those who live on an archipelago island in Roslagen. That's not necessarily the case anymore, but despite the fact that we haven't been farming here on Marholmen for a long time, there is a wide range of activities to do, explore and experience all year round. Or you can do absolutely nothing. You choose.

More than excellent!!! Absolutely no negative words. The staff were super friendly and the service was absolutely fantastic. The room was clean and fresh. The food was delicious! Location and environment 5 stars. The spa was very nice with a small outdoor pool, steam sauna, hot tub, and a sauna with a beautiful view. A wonderful stay!

What an amazing experience! Friendly and accommodating staff, a lovely spa, a nice room, comfy beds, and amazing surroundings. The surrounding environment is really lovely. There are walking paths all around Marholmen, and exercise trails out on Strömsholmen, which is connected to Marholmen. You'll find playgrounds, beach volleyball, football, and adventure golf. The hotel is modern and comfortable with many social areas and a crackling fireplace. The restaurant is top-notch.

Had a weekend with the motorhome and a good parking spot. The hotel is probably really nice and a good place for couples and families, with all sorts of activities like tennis, mini golf, kayaking, football, fishing, and a spa, which was really good. The food at the restaurant was delicious; we had a three-course buffet and it was incredibly tasty.
