Simply put, shuffleboard can be described as a variation of curling, but without ice. This is a game that requires tactics, precision, and nerves of steel. The game is suitable for all ages. Shuffleboard is free for guests staying at Marholmen.

The pucks glide very easily on the long playing surface thanks to the sand (silicone mixed with walnut shells) sprinkled on it. The game is about pushing your puck with your hand so it lands within the scoring area. The closer you get to the edge, the higher your score. The closer you get to the edge, the higher your score. If the stone goes outside the edge, it's 'dead' and out of the game.

Shuffleboard – Game Rules

  • You play in two teams with 1-4 players per team, each with four pucks of different colors.
  • Both teams play from the same side.
  • Decide who starts with an initial shot. The person who gets closest to the far edge, without tipping over, gets to start the match.
  • You play every other puck.
  • The first team to score 15 points wins the game.
  • The puck(s) of the same color that are closest to the far edge score points. (Only one team gets points per round!)
  • The entire puck must be in the scoring zone to get points; otherwise, you'll get points for the previous zone.
  • The winner of the round is the team that starts the next round.
