Marholmen is an island in the Roslagen archipelago, an hour's drive from Stockholm and Uppsala. People have rested, educated and enjoyed themselves here for over a hundred years. In 1913, wholesaler Nils Berg and his wife Hanna donated part of Marholmen to the Swedish Trade Union Confederation (LO) to give workers' wives and workers' wives the opportunity to rest. Today, the island attracts guests from near and far to stay, eat, meet, swim, go to the spa or just be in the beautiful archipelago environment.
You choose whether you want to stay in our comfortable hotel or take care of yourself in one of our cozy Cabin with its own fireplace and sauna - or maybe rent a whole villa? No matter how you stay, you choose whether you want to fill your time here on the island with one of our many activities or if you just want to be and recover from everyday life.

Did you know that?
Elsa Beskow's husband Natanael was the first headmaster of the folk high school that opened here on Marholmen in 1926. Every year they stood together on the pier and welcomed new students.
